SAN is one of the airports I’d strongly recommend arriving no earlier than necessary. It’s marginally better than a dump, with limited amenities and no great place to kill time.

It baffles me that SoCal has so many airports that are built as if they’re serving a small city yet have a catchment area with millions. Sure, it’s space constrained, but that doesn’t prevent building up.
