The term “priority group” doesn’t do us any favors. Too often, I hear people say they think they have priority boarding because they bought premium seats or have the credit card to they have “priority boarding” and they attempt (and usually succeed) at boarding then. All groups should have a clear number or letter assigned to them.
I agree - I find AA's boarding being 1-9 is the most clear to me, and I think Delta went back to numbers from the named zones.
