Speaking of ergonomics of access buttons…
In most vehicles, the trunk release is concealed on the back tailgate in such a manner that you lift up on the button (depressing it vertically upward) so unlocking and lifting are one motion without repositioning.
On the Crown, the trunk release button is mounted vertically and you press it horizontally (toward the front of the car) with the very tip of your finger. This puts your hand in a position to then lift the trunk lid as it does not release/lift at all on its own. If you miss the button, you jam your finger.
Strange design.
