There's a very pronounced humming sound in my room that is driving me insane and I'm probably going to have to move a second time. The maintenance guy was just here and said it's probably the AC and there's nothing he can do about it.

Check in lady also didn't have any cash and couldn't break a large bill and so I haven't tipped the bellman and I'm embarrassed about it.

EDIT - third room is passable. still facing the parking lot, it is what it is, but a couple floors higher, no humming sound, but there is a family of multiple screaming children next door which I will just have to chalk up to the risks you take by staying at an American brand hotel in Europe during peak vacation season. Going to have a beer and focus on enjoying Scotland now.
