Second room they put me in is on the first floor even lower and there is a window facing the outside that overlooks a parking lot. At least I can see outside.

Check in lady did not care about my gold status and insist there's no such thing as a food and beverage credit or any other benefits whatsoever.

There's a very pronounced humming sound in my room that is driving me insane and I'm probably going to have to move a second time. The maintenance guy was just here and said it's probably the AC and there's nothing he can do about it.

Seems like this building has seen better days. Cranky.
Check in lady also didn't have any cash and couldn't break a large bill and so I haven't tipped the bellman and I'm embarrassed about it.

Will edit post if things improve.

Hi,

There is no F&B credit at the Caledonian for Diamonds or Golds ( or at most hiltons outside US ( some mexican and canadian hotels also) but you will get a full breakfast tomorrow morning) but the check in agent should have mentioned that.
Unless you get a castle view, the views are average of the courtyard/rear parking ( though some hills in the distance)
Regards
