Well, the answer to the OP's question is yes! Never flew to MNL before the merger, but did three trips on DL, all connecting in DTW with a stop in NGO on the outbound. Coming back to the USA, it was usually MNL-NRT and then a connection in either MSP, JFK or DTW back to BOS. I miss the 747s and the NRT club.
