Yea, I was thinking to visit Thailand in early-Sept (just to escape the winter in Australia). I'm aware that the general consensus is to avoid a brand new hotel but I'm very tempted to postpone my travel plan now. I haven't had the opportunity to visit the grand opening of a property. In fact, I was initially hoping to have a look at the Khao Lak Marriott that was scheduled to open in Sept but I believe it has been postponed to Q4.
There will definitely be a festive spirit and urge to keep you happy during the opening period. Once you can put up with possible hardware and possible service defects.
