I am 6'2", over 60 years old, the ability to book a premium seat for the price of Y is the primary reason I stick with MP, earn at least MPVG annually. This assumes MP remains a mileage-based system, rather than revenue-based (or CC spend) for elite qualification. If/when AS follows the march to the bottom, drops the mileage-based system, I will simply fall back on my AA LT PLT status, earn (and burn) AA miles when flying AS, other OW carriers.
