I went back to see how my card has handled weekends and indeed a weekend fee was added for a EUR spend sent to a SEK card (which was the case I thought was fee exempted, as stated in their commercial emails). Lesson learned is to double check every single claim they make.

Regardless, one trick to remove the weekend fee post factum is to do a GBIT on a weekday. At least before that credited back the weekend fee
