Has to be passengers arriving 6 hrs before the flight and/or Air France/Korean Air passengers from Terminal One also arriving early, checking-in and heading to the Delta One lounge for a 3 course meal. Some team based located at Virginia Ave got the lounge capacity expected vs actual projections all wrong.
Holiday weekend would have a bearing on propensity to arrive hours early. If one has in-person meetings or appointments or similar obligations, one can't show up until well after those. There are going to be a lot fewer of those on a weekend or Friday July 5, so more passengers with nothing better to do than sit in the lounge for hours.
