Just to add another experience:

I had some delayed luggage and unluckily for me my PJs were in that bag.
I did go and buy some new PJs and some toilletries from my usual brand, which did end up costing approx 200.- EUR.

SK only ever disputed by how much the luggage was delayed, but other than that paid out the full amount.
It might be, that in this case the total amount wasn't too high for them to dispute (luckily I didn't need a suit or anything).
