The partner access is only for connecting flights, as Delta can interrupt your inbound flights this way as you will have a different PNR and ticket stock, 932 and 006. I’m sure that entry to the Delta One lounge is via scanned ticket similar to the Sky Club.
  • Same-day departing or connecting flights operated by the following Delta partners in their respective first and business class cabins specified below:
  • Virgin Atlantic Upper Class.

Compare to the Sky Club access which states “same day international First or Business ticket on a Sky Team-Operated flight”. The Sky Club access is silent on arrival and departure, as both can be assumed to grant access.

Personally I would have not chatted with Delta either once or twice about this, as you probably were informed that you wouldn’t be given access by the 1st chat agent, then did a HUCB for the 2nd agent who told you yes. Delta management reads these transcripts, and it might have alerted them to reprogram the Delta One entry software. But it is Delta IT, so I wouldn’t count on it.

Just be persuasive if denied entry at 1st, point out the access terms are ambiguous as “departing” isn’t specific to JFK or the SkyTeam partner and can be interpreted both ways.

I wish you all the best for entry. Personally, I would never have two separate tickets connecting via JFK for an international trip, but that’s a discussion for a different thread.
I suspect the “connecting” language is in there as there are currently no flights operated by partners that are part of pre-clearance. The only way to access is to have an onward flight so you can get through security. Even if on two PNRs, you are connecting from a qualifying business flight, which is the requirement. I think the split PNR shouldn’t be an issue (this is at least how it works in OW land, which is where I spend most of my time). Keep us posted Mroberts955

I’ve a D1 trip lined up in a couple of weeks during the TATL window so we’ll see how slammed it is (inbound to JFK gives me a 4.5 hour connection).
