Haven’t been to London for 13yrs and narrowing down options for a January trip for just wife and I - the sheer amount of choice with hotels is a little overwhelming! But I do love the planning and research stage
Am thinking of splitting the stay as might be staying a night or two in the Cotswolds in the middle, plus will let us experience 2 hotels (if did split would be 4NT / 3NT). Unfortunately suites are beyond what I want to budget, so will be staying in standard room categories (probably one or two up from the entry on average). Current short list is:
- Claridges (probably a Mayfair room)
- Connaught (contemporary superior or deluxe)
- Beaumont (superior or superior grand room)
Wife and I seem to be drawn toward trying Claridges as one of them, which if so would leave me deciding where to stay for the second part of the trip.
A lot of ppl on this thread seem to say the Connaught shines in the suite categories rather than the entry level rooms, so not sure whether this means I should discount and go for the Beaumont? (Similar reason why I haven’t got Lanesborough on the list..entry rooms don’t seem as appealing personally).
I realise there’s so many other choices out there, but I’ve tried to narrow it down to these for my own sanity. Having said that very open to suggestions!
