Yeah, I know, that text reads clearly both sides need to be EUR/GBP/USD. It was fetched from a UK support site, I couldn't find the same text for eg EEA customers.
But when they sent me upgraded terms last year it said only one side needed to be in the listed currency. There might be different terms for different markets.
They also sent me multiple marketing email saying "Enjoy zero weekend fees on USD, EUR and GBP. Say goodbye to hidden currency fees and hello to worry-free spending. Freedom at its best." without any disclaimers. Again, could be they assume everyone in EEA has EUR as base currency but it surely would fall under false marketing sending personalised messages to customers stating something is free if it isn't.
That is why I said 'I think' for us who doesn't have EUR as base currency *) but for people on this thread the majority will have EUR cards in the curve app and at least USD and GBP purchases will clearly have zero weekend fees.
This is classic curve, a lot of talk and very little details and impossible to find straight answers.
*) Of course, one can re-set the base currency in the app, for each card. So if one is facing weekend fees for e.g. a EUR-SEK purchase, one can fool the system by telling curve my SEK card is actually in EUR. Then Curve will not exchange EUR->SEK but instead charge my card in EUR and not charge a weekend fee. Then of course my SEK card will do the exchange but it might be cheaper than having curve exchange + curve fee.
