When my mum had her bust knee (had a lot of pain when walking on it) I was taking her on holiday. I booked both of us in F (747) so that the journey was much less painful for her. She could manage walking through the million pound door to the CCR fine
no First Wing back then. She could do most things quite slowly and in varying degrees of pain. Stairs were another matter but there are lifts and escalators at T5 so that was fine and a trolley acts as a wheeled zimmer frame
However once on board our lovely crew member Peter spotted she was having difficulty walking and the fact that I was carrying her hand luggage. He said that if she needed anything (at all) she was to press the call button and he would come and get it/do it for her to save her having to get up e.g. getting something out of her hand luggage/overhead bin/the chocolates from the centre unit
etc.
He was also a delight during the flight in many other ways and he and his Partner in First got a very well deserved BA.com welldone
BA of course right royally mucked my carefully designed plans, by using stairs and a bus gate which took her ages to use. Sods Law and all that.
