But that would be between the gentleman concerned and his employer based on necessary business travel and applicable terms of his employment contract. The OP is referring to discretional leisure travel and expecting accommodation at the carrier's expense. I see no reason for this.

Perhaps the OP's medical insurance is a more appropriate place to ask for financial support if normal travel conditions are not medically acceptable, but I think we all know what they would say.
