I can just picture a Delta One JFK bound passenger goes now to the CDG AF La Permiére check-in if orienting in Paris and/or the La Permiére CDG lounge because they experienced the Delta One experience in JFK—only to be turned away by Air France and then have a DYKWIA verbal meltdown.
I know it’s unlikely but I wonder if all of this has American rethinking dropping FF. I was a Diamond medallion for years before realizing that since I was paying for F and J all the time anyway, as free upgrades disappeared, that I might as well fly the best product out there (this dawned on me after being blown away by La Permiere). Anyway, I’ve been doing JFK to LAX/SFO on American in FF for years now in large part because of the Chelsea Lounge. And I’ve been wondering what they’re going to use that lounge for if and when they drop FF and if they’re thinking about how to beat Delta on those routes.
