I also cannot do long haul unless in business or first as it would be too painful (but no risk of permanent damage) and I always travel with my husband or an adult child as I would need assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation so that is twice the cost. However, I wouldn’t dream of expecting a free upgrade and we just have to accept that we can’t fly as often as we would like.
