When I asked about just holding US-DOH until the connection booking window opened up, she said it was the same- she would need to release the hold, and then search for the full US-MLE itinerary. Can you ticket US-DOH-MLE with the latter segment in Y and then have it upgraded to J should space become available? Meaning without having to risk to cancel the whole thing and start from scratch, because I've definitely done this in the past.
