Almost:
  1. Create a Singapore Airlines (SQ) frequent flyer account.
  2. Link that account to Membership Rewards, but do NOT transfer any points
  3. Search for SQ partner airline award availability on your specific route and date. (Award availability is capacity controlled, and may not be available even if seats are available to purchase with money.)
  4. If you find availability, only then would you transfer from Membership Rewards to SQ
