If someone already has an Alaska card then they are likely needing to spend $6000 for a companion fare. By paying rent with AS card for that amount you can put that spend on a better category earning card. Shouldn't we then consider that in the same way we considered what we "could've" earned using the Bilt card?
With Bilt rent payment of $6000 and minimum $6000 AS card spent that's $12000 for:
6000 Bilt points
At most 18000 AS Miles, at least 6000
With AS rent payment of $6000 and minimum $6000 spent using say Chase category cards earning x2-10 that's $12000 for:
18000 AS Miles
At least 12000 UR points, at most 60000
On the same spend you just came out with at least the same amount of AS Miles and at least 6000 more points you could transfer to Hyatt.
Am I thinking about this wrong?
So yes, if you “but what about” the very simple math to make your own math, whatever.
You’re still passing up free Alaska miles (in the form of Bilt points) and paying 1.5 cpm for three times as many. You may think this is worth the trade for whatever reason. Great. You do you. Enjoy.

3. I pay a 3% surcharge. My $4000 rent payment costs me $120 but I get 12000 miles for the transaction.
4. I am paying 1 cent a mile and putting of paying rent for 58 day.
5. Where can you by a Alaska mile for 1 cent?
6. I always get at least 2 cent in value for every Alaska mile I reimburse.
So you realize that you can float rent on a Bilt card too, right? You are not required to direct debit if you have sufficient space on your Bilt card.
Also, you realize everyone who just uses the Bilt card can also use Alaska miles to get the same cpm results you get redeeming AS, right?
Anyway, I can get an Alaska mile for zero cents using Bilt to pay rent… so, yes, I can get Alaska miles for less than a penny a mile. Unfortunate that you can’t for whatever reason and if you’re happy with the Alaska-Bilt relationship and earning on rent, cool, enjoy.
