The article goes on to discuss EU/UK261. It'll be interesting to see how BA spin this one, although the initial delay was outside of their control what happened next was not. If BA say it was due to disruptive passengers then it's outside of their control, which would beg the question about what they're doing about said disruptive passengers. But if they follow Johnson's version of events then UK/EU261 should be payable IMO.
Could one argue that since the initial delay at Gatwick was caused by a British Airways aircraft technical issue, all resulting delays are in fact covered by UK261 delay compensation?
