That's really interesting. I like reading comments like this from frequent posters because it helps me to gauge between options if there are several places nearby. Given that Hampton is in general so cookie cutter this is high praise.

I stayed in the Manchester Hampton for one night a while back and I get your comments about a vast difference between that property and this one. As per the HGI Old Trafford thread, that property is head and shoulders above the (Manchester) Hampton.The one advantage I guess the Hampton has it being so close to Victoria station but then getting round Manchester isn't hard by tram.

I guess the downside at Blackburn is that it's not near public transport?
