I saw this story this morning from the US site of the UK paper The Mirror:
Delta Airlines flight forced into emergency landing after serving passengers 'spoiled food' - Mirror Online
According to flightaware.com, this flight left DTW last night (7/2/24) at 2251 bound for AMS, took off at 2305, flew out to somewhere near Nova Scotia, and then made a U turn and headed back to JFK, where it landed at 0359 and parked at 0409. The reason given was spoiled food.
On my most recent trip through Detroit, I noticed a catering truck from a company called DO & CO. A truck from this company catered the JFK-CDG flight I was on three weeks ago. They may well have catered DL 136. A dollar to a donut this was not the first recent Delta flight involving substandard catering.
