The staff at this property were all friendly, professional, and world-class. Led by Lauren at the front desk, it’s clear that they truly enjoy what they do. She was proactive, and friendly and enjoys interacting with guests to learn more about what makes their stay perfect. She is excellent at what she does. Globalist benefits were explained, and she made it clear she highly values her Globalist members. I was upgraded in advance of check in, from a Deluxe King to a King Ocean View Balcony room, which was quite nice. I had the pleasure of being served by Pedro in Costa all three mornings I was there and he was just fantastic, with each interaction. His friendliness, recommendations, and attentiveness were perfect. Globalist breakfast was easy to settle up with, and I had an entree, a fruit side, and a latte each day. Pedro pointed out each time that service charges were included in the comped breakfast. You can also order off of room service through a QR code as a Globalist.
The staff at Lido were busy, and seemed a little short-staffed, but operated with a level of efficiency that maximized their small team. A few odd quirks with the service, like a check being brought prematurely by a team member I had not interacted with. And watching food orders never get delivered so folks had to leave before their food arrived. But Sharon, the bartender, was so friendly and made sure she checked in on everyone as quickly as she could. I loved the indoor and outdoor seating options here. Food was good, and beyond the service issues, this was a fun place to hang out for a while.
The location l is within walking distance, about a 25-35 minute beautiful walk, to the Funk Zone. There you will find tons of great shops and restaurants. I highly recommend The Lark, where we experienced amazing food and service.
The amenities. I loved the ability to borrow hotel bikes from the valet team quickly and easily. They were first come first served, but it was a no hassle checkout and check-in process. The Saturday morning yoga on the beach was excellent. It was a small group, so very tailored to our experience levels. The instructor, Chelsea, was perfect as she was thorough, educational, and very friendly. She comes from a local studio and is clearly an expert and loves what she does. I wish she was available at my studio back home!
The property is nostalgic, and quintessential Santa Barbara. The place is beautiful and in a perfect location across the street from the beach and along many walking paths and bike paths. My room was in building 2 and an upgrade to a king deluxe ocean view with a balcony. I could hear the ocean waves, especially at night, but there are a few loud vehicles passing by. The balcony was the shining star of this room, but the room was fantastic, well-appointed, and quite large. Amenities were great, but keep in mind. The property is a bit spread out, and there is some short-distance walking to do to get around. Wi-Fi was good, but not great, but that could be where you are located within the building and the stucco walls. Housekeeping skipped to me one day, which was not a big deal for me at all, but otherwise, they were very professional.
Parking was available on the street in front of the hotel. I did not need to use my car much as I was either walking, on a bike, or in an Uber, I was able to avoid the expensive on-site parking fees.
