If you're feeling pretty brave you could book something like this and get Gold for not too much more money.

All flights with BA flight numbers.
880 TPs x 2 ( on the double TP promotion) = 1760

Others have said that they have been able to replicate this for circa £3500 per person in a basic hotel for 7 nights. Better hotels are available of course your wife will be happy to hear.
