If you take 5.5m and invest with 4% return (bunch of places offer >5% now), it will double in 18 years.
No wonder people fail basic math...
I’ll bet one of the nasty cost surprises of owning one of these units is maintenance and repair costs. Must cost a bundle on Maui to hire those with the skills to do the job right.
