I suppose is a matter of how much it hurts the bottom line. RFID tags have gotten cheaper, smaller, so they are convenient. I think they rather track the whole car instead of smaller parts. Tires make sense, since a new set is at least $400. With the increased of electric vehicles, the new thing is the charging nozzle that can be removed.
