No need to run .. what we all find funny differs, doesn’t it. What I can say is, as a West of Scotland boy of a similar background, his early stuff resonates strongly with the characters and life I experienced and heard of, first hand, when growing up.
These days, his artwork changes hands at impressive prices (and is popular amongst those who like it as well as those speculating on value should/when the worst happens), and having met him through his art, he retains a real ability to recall a memory, relate it to who he’s speaking to, and come across with warmth and authenticity.
