Even in Business if you book Value it takes a slightly mad 36 tickets LHR-AUH to earn Plat for the first time.
Sorry I forgot to say my calculations were for miles required by flying and comfort.

But yeah it's completely insane. There will only be a few rich people with Platinum and some frequent business travellers. And for deluxe the extra benefits you get at that price, you already have with Platinum....
