I often find that Row 1 and Row 3 are served first. On the odd times I have been in Row 2, I've ended up with the trolley being positioned at Row 2 and the row in front and behind of me being served. If you can't get Row 1 and really want to be served first, there's a good chance that Row 3 would be a better row to choose.
Yes, generally row 3 seems to be served before row 2 in my experience. It also seems to be quite random as to whether they serve the A/C side first or D/F - I've definitely had a few times sitting in A where they've served the other side of the aisle first and a few times sitting in F where I've been served before the A/C side.
