The "assigned" seat map is different from the "checked-in" seat map that the airport-system creates.
AF was not selling J seats on AF638 10h before departure of the flight, but still selling PE and Y. Hence, the flight was truly expected full in J.


Good luck for your bag. STrange that it was not loaded in MAN as you took that flight. I would have expected it to be stranded in Paris.
