I recently donated blood in the UK and when asked if I had been abroad since my last donation and mentioned Italy as one of the countries I visited a large folder was produced and I was shown a map of Italy and asked where abouts. It seems the main areas of concern were around Rome and Naples but also Milan. As I had been to the North-East only I was able to donate however a recent BA flight from Venice Marco Polo to LHR was sprayed prior to departure.
