I have been proactively offloaded on the MAD-VCE flight and rebooked on the later flight due to a slightly delayed intra schengen incoming. Reached the gate with hand luggage only while the flight only started boarding but gate agent said they could not let me through and i had to join the impossibly long lines at customer service kiosks far from the gate to be allowed back on the flight. Ended up with an annoyingly long wait at the lounge and missed a night of my accommodation in VCE.
