I’m sure it was very inconsiderate of me to expect parents to do something about a noisy baby. Toys, food, pacifier, entertainment, stuffed animal etc.
Of course it is fair to expect people to behave reasonably in a shared space. But this kind of indicates that the problem was not the kid, but the adults. But the cabin crew can have a conversation with the adults.
Many years ago on a flight from LHR to CPH we were pushed back from the gate and the captain announced we'd be parked at a remote stand for an hour to wait for our slot. Some passengers did have quite tired kids after coming in from Sydney, trying to keep the kids calm with music in a manner that was more noisy and annoying than the kids in the first place. Luckily the crew did point out that they were not exactly improving the situation, and the parents found other ways to keep the kids occupied.
