The point that I'm probably not succeeding in getting across is that since 21 minutes is the cut off, if you don't have a gate number by then OR a clear explanation of delay with a revised timing, you have to find the gate number. Various things can be done to do this, outlined above, including as the OP did in the end, find out from another member of staff. They just did this too late given the 21 minute outcome. It's not clear that the OP simply asked "what gate is BAnnn" in Flounge. Even shorter version: the responsibility is on the traveller to do something.
