Thanks so much for all the replies! Ok, so we have to wait until the gate opens if we have to collect our luggage. Hadn't thought of this. Perhaps best to change the in-terminal hotel to the Skylight hotel outside the terminal then. Do we then have to buy a full visa or is it possible to buy a transit visa that is only valid for a few hours? Will ask if the airline can check us in all the way to Nairobi, but we probably have no guarantee that they will do this. It will be a flight with several stops. Oslo- Frankfurt (LH) - Istanbul - Addis (TK) and Addis - Nairobi (ET) the following day. It would be nice if we didn't need visas for Ethiopia as we are really just waiting for the next flight there.
