I have an (old) Silver membership card on one of my bags and assumed staff could look up my details from my EC number. I'm now wondering whether data protection and/or general lack of linked-up IT systems mean that it's no use.

I never liked the idea of having personal information publicly accessible on my luggage but maybe I should get over that.
