If you are a domestic USA flyer, BA makes little sense , the same if originating in the USA to Pacific destinations. But in other parts of the world BA makes lots of sense.
Remember FT is a worldwide community and the most active forum is BA. UA is close but distinctly less.
I believe the point was that UA will give a GS a better experience than BA, given OP suggested moving their spend there. I would echo that and say good luck as well. BA is notorious for its delays.
