I thought that RAK was handled by GB Airways out of LGW?? In which case, I am confused. Why would the baggage handlers at LHR have anything to do with it - or was it handed to RAM to fly. As they are handled by Air France, anything is possible.

As RAK is flown by a franchise, BA is still responsible but I strongly suspec that the staff in RAK are GB staff and not mainline.
