They booked through a travel agent and were told they could get a refund. And the official policy is that WJ has to find alternative flights for you within 48h, if they can’t on WJ (which they can’t because they are on strike) then they need to book you on another airline. And WJ would have to eat the cost difference (if higher cost). With the volume of cancelled flights it is nearly impossible that WJ will be able to do this for so many people.
They're still trying to figure out a solution at the moment, but its all in limbo.
