Prior to check-in and until the seatmaps were pulled from viewing on ExpertFlyer, EF was showing rows 1-2 as blocked, not occupied.

Checked in exactly at the 24 hour mark and the seats were not available for assignment. I checked multiple times over the ensuing 24 hours and they were never available for assignment. I stopped by the ticketing desk when I got to the airport to try again and they said the seats were all occupied, which they were when I boarded. So I'm not really sure how this happened. The rest of the J seatmap was full for most of the time leading up to check-in so I guess it could have been people with tickets but not seat assignments.

Didn't love the business class product or service on an overnight flight that departed after 1am. Seats don't provide a ton of privacy around your head when you're laying down and so it's easy to be disturbed by activity in the aisle. And there was a LOT of activity in the aisle - two hour dinner service with the lights on, and then two hours before landing they turned the lights on again and woke me up for breakfast (which I specifically asked them not to do). So four hours of light, noise, and commotion on a ~6 hour overnight flight. Product would be fine for a daytime flight I guess.
