I will be purchasing full-fare round-trip business class tickets from Denver to Paris this October. My wife plans to accompany me. There is no PN or PZ inventory on either of the flights… but there are many open seats in business.
I’ve read here a GS member can “force” an upgrade in this scenario - but it isn’t clear to me how to go about this. Do I purchase my ticket first, then hers on a separate reservation, then call the GS line? Also - what’s the best way to go about this? Ideally I would purchase her ticket in economy (or premium economy, if necessary for this to work) and then upgrade to business with PlusPoints.
Any advice on how to go about this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a slightly different question. Lets say my wife and I are on the same flight.... for example LHR-LAX but I am booked onto LAS from LAX but my wife's PNR terminates at LAX.
Will they still open up space on the LHR-LAX leg even though our full itineraries dont match?
