Question Strategy at SIN to improve chances of bag transfer with a tight connection at KUL?

Hi, I will be traveling from Perth to Tokyo via Singapore. J seats from BKK or KUL are more reasonably priced than on flights departing from SIN (at least for the dates that I will be traveling). I have booked a positioning flight, traveling on three separate tickets with the understanding of the risks involved:
  • SQ226 in Y from PER 13:50 to 19:10 SIN
  • MH610 in Y from SIN 21:20 to 22:30 KUL
  • MH88 in J from KUL 23:35 to 07:15+1 NRT

The Minimum Connection Time required is 1 hour at KUL and the concern is the tight connection. SQ has interline agreement with MH so technically it is possible to check through bags. However, to improve the chances of my luggage getting transferred on time between the MH flights, what would you do?
a. Request the agent at PER to check through luggage all the way to NRT?
b. Pick up bags at SIN and recheck in with MH?
Hoping that agent at SIN may tag the bags with some sort of priority or hot tag to flag for the ground crew at KUL; similar to how the agent added yellow tag T2 to T2 when I had to connect between two SQ flights (same PNR) at Changi last year.
I am less concerned about the connection between SQ and MH flights so even if the agent at PER were to kindly check through and add a T3 to T2 tag; we are looking for a similar tag (if there is one) to call out for the ground crew transferring the bags at KUL.
c. (Variation of option “a") would you request to check through luggage to NRT; during transit at SIN, go to a transfer desk and request to see if the ground crew will be able to add a bag tag to flag for the ground crew at KUL?
I do not expect this, but just wondering if this is a service that the ground crew at Changi provides.

Related notes:
  • This will be moot if the agent at PER is not willing or not able to check through bags.
  • I have considered and waited for ZipAir to release its schedule beyond October, but it still has not, as we are approaching July.
  • I also looked at NH882 from PER to NRT, but the much pricier fare for one-way ticket was a deterence; not only NH but other non-LCCs as well.

Thanks for reading and sharing your input!
