I got BA's status match, took one $2600 biz flight to London and have their Gold/Emerald status through April 2026. Next year my United rev goes to a few hundred dollars.
If you think BA is any better than United, you may be sorely disappointed. In my experience, their website and customer service are much worse. And BA's onboard service won't win any awards either.
BA's limited route network, especially in the Pacific, means they're really not a viable alternative for most US-based frequent travelers.
