Just like Dutch Harbor, which is technically Unalaska. But the 3 letter code is DUT.
Fair point, but with Dutch Harbor, the airport is actually on Amaknak Island and Unalaska is everything across the Captains Bay Bridge. I still use Dutch Harbor and Unalaska interchangeably, but I try to use Utqiagvik unless I'm referring specifically to the Barrow Townsite. You are correct though, probably the only people that pay attention to this are well-traveled Alaskans. If the locals or Inupiat aren't complaining, I have no reason to. It was just an observation I found to be interesting.
