Did you request or know that Uber would pick up from the hotel zone? They didn't a few years ago. They only picked up from the old town Cancun and take passengers to the airport. So did they change that? Just curious in the event I visit again. I remember having to take the city bus out of the hotel zone over to the Cancun old town bus station and then taking a ADO bus to the airport. No Ubers available every time I tried in the hotel zone, but when I stayed in the old town Cancun I had Uber pick me up from a side street and not directly in front of any of the hotels or the taxis would have a fit.😁
yes, Uber operated freely throughout the hotel zone, we used few times, and with one that could speak some good English we discussed airports runs, and he said that there was the “Taxi Mafia” so they could not pick up but they could do drop off.
every time we needed a Uber from our hotel, we could see at least 5/6 cars on the app just outside the hotel.
