Eight stops along Bath road brings you to within a three minute stroll of the Premier Inn. The reason for choosing this hotel was partly on cost but also because I spotted that they had the new Premier Plus rooms and I wanted to try one out.

On arrival there are both manned and automatic checkin booths. I chose the automatic
booth which was quick and easy but comes with a gotcha, more about that later

A large reception entrance devoted to food and beverage

And so to the room which is definitely a plus compared to the standard Premier Inn room.

And here comes the gotcha. The Plus rooms come with Ultimate WiFi for which you need a code, but the automatic check in machines are not integrated into the WiFi system so you have to go to a manned desk to get the code. Duh!

Premier Inn and I have very differing ideas of ultimate

I dropped my bag and headed down to the bar which is not particularly busy and it was time for a nice pint of Stella.

Why am I sitting outside? Because whilst I was waiting to order I saw this

The iPhone camera makes the planes seem quite distant but they are a lot closer than that picture would have you believe . The flight path is immediately behind the hotel with a clear view of the planes coming in.
