I needed to bring some extra stuff back from South Italy a couple of years ago, so I bought a 25 Euro hard case from a 'Chinese' shop there. On arrival in LHR after a change in Rome, the case was badly dented and cracked - not surprising. Contents were fine. As the desk was right by the carousel and we were waiting for other bags, I filled in a damage form giving the real price and attaching a receipt. This was just after ITA had started operating. Two days later I was offered 70 Euros. I'm tempted to buy another case each time I'm in Calabria.
