I’ve had two ruined fully by airlines, SK for a cabin size one, whereby by some miracle the wine which was inside wasn’t ruined but suitcase had a 6-7cm indentation. SK said not our responsibility. With LH they shrugged and referred to the toc. Whilst nice luggage, the aluminium ones are not sturdy (now had a wheel replaced for the second time on my third rimowa), and quite honestly, checking them in, is always a risk. I’ve concluded that at this stage, if you cannot afford to replace them, don’t buy them. And if you do get them, get the plastic ones (though what’s the point then).
